Brocato Directory

How we review listings

Brocato Directory is a human-researched listing directory of transcription and translation companies. Listings are researched and editorially reviewed before they are published. We do not host on-site reviews or star-rating widgets for visitors.

What “Verified” means

The Verified tag means Brocato confirmed a real operating Physical Address (the listing field is a street, not the words not verified). It is not a star rating, not an endorsement, and not an invitation to review on this site.

Editorial review is still required to publish, but publish is not the same as a Verified badge. Cards that are not Verified were still editorially reviewed before they went live. Buyers should read each listing’s Physical Address field and this How we review page.

When a Physical Address is not verified, that field stays not verified.

Google ratings

When a company has a real Google Business Profile, we may show the public Google rating and link out to Google Maps. Those are outbound Google reviews — we do not collect or display reviews on this site.

Other review sites

When a Glassdoor, Indeed, Trustpilot, BBB, or similar profile is clearly for the same company, we may link out to it under Reputation. Those are outbound third-party profiles — we still do not host on-site reviews or collect ratings on this directory.

Physical Address

Physical Address verified means our research supported a real operating address (not only a virtual mailbox or registered-agent mill). Physical Address not verified means we could not confirm a genuine operating location from public sources, or the listed address appeared to be a mail drop / virtual office.

CJIS notes

We only use a CJIS-related tag when a company has earned a concrete public signal (for example, appearance on a state CJIS vendor list). A foreign or heavily offshore workforce generally means a company is not treated as CJIS-capable for U.S. law-enforcement transcript work. Contracting agencies must still assess any vendor against the FBI CJIS Security Policy.

Compliance attributes

On each company listing we record a short Compliance attributes section covering public signals for HIPAA, FINRA, CJIS, SOC 2 / SOC 3, ISO 27001, GDPR, and FERPA (plus HITRUST / PCI-DSS / FedRAMP / ITAR only when a real public source exists). We distinguish company claims (security/marketing pages, blogs, trust centers) from independent evidence (auditor PDFs, registry certificates, government lists, regulatory orders). Absence of a public source is recorded as “no public evidence found.” A listing is never tagged HIPAA merely because the company mentions medical work. Buyers should confirm current paperwork directly with each company.

Public business registration

Public business registration means a state Secretary of State, Companies House, or equivalent official business-entity registry record (for example a Colorado SOS LLC filing or a UK Companies House company number). It is not a city business license, a Google Business Profile, or a marketing badge.

We only publish a registration when we are confident the legal name belongs to the brand on the listing. In practice that usually means at least two of: the exact legal name the company uses publicly; a matching officer or director already documented on the listing; a matching registered office or HQ city; or a clear trade-name / DBA link to the brand. Ambiguous namesakes and weak single-signal matches are left as not found. Prefer a false negative over publishing the wrong filing.

When a match is published, the listing shows jurisdiction, legal name, trade name/DBA if any, filing/entity ID when public, status only if the official page states it, a link to the official record, and a short confidence note. Registered-agent or virtual-mailbox addresses on a filing do not upgrade Physical Address to verified.

Known public notes

Known public notes are sourced public positives and concerns only. They are not on-site visitor reviews, star ratings, or opinions. Every line needs a public source URL or a clear cite to an official page already linked in Official verifications. Company marketing is labeled as a “company claim.” We do not invent ratings, gossip, or unsourced claims, and we do not host logos or on-site reviews for visitors.

What we do not do

We do not offer on-site reviews, star ratings, or “write a review” forms. Contact forms on listings are inquiries to the listing owner — not reviews. To request a new listing or an update, use Apply to directory.
